Teaching Diploma in Mathematics

The study programme for the teaching diploma (TD) for Matura schools in mathematics is aimed at people who would like to acquire didactic training for teaching mathematics. The programme is offered by the department of mathematics (D-MATH).

Students and alumnae of the D-ITET have the possibility to apply with the standard procedure. Interested people will find the technical prerequisites below. All course requirements can be fulfilled during the regular technical study programme when focussing on information technology or mathematics.

Training for the teaching diploma aims at combining aspects from science, didactics, educational science and practical training. It contains mentored components in which students can plan lectures themselves. During a teaching internship, students are accompanied by teachers at respective schools to deepen their own knowledge and enrich it with concrete teaching experience.

The TD comprises 60 credits ECTS and can be completed in parallel with a master programme, while studying for a doctorate, or on the job.
