At the D-ITET Christmas Apéro, both employees and students had the chance to exchange informally with the Department Management, friends and colleagues.

Peyman Mohajerin Esfahani, Tobias Sutter and John Lygeros (all Automatic Control Lab), authors of the paper “Performance Bounds for the Scenario Approach and an Extension to a Class of Non-Convex Programs", have been selected as the winners of the 2016 George S. Axelby Outstanding Paper Award from the IEEE Control Systems Society.

Prof. Luca Benini receives the 2016 Mac Van Valkenburg Award of the IEEE Circuits and System Society for sustained contributions to energy-efficient design methods for integrated circuits, networks and systems.

On 9 December 2016, more than 70 female pupils took part in the Schülerinnentag organized by LIMES (Ladies in Mechanical and Electrical Studies).

Luca Benini has been named a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) for contributions to the design of low power multi-processor systems.

PhD student Pawel Lenarczyk and Prof. Mathieu Luisier won the "best paper award" at the last SISPAD conference in Nuremberg.

The two students Séverine Chardonnens and Simon Bachmann, working with PhD student Flurin Stauffer of LBB, won the 2^nd place at the Entrepreneur Club Award of ETH Zürich.

Theo Borsche, who completed his PhD with Prof. em. Andersson and is currently a postdoc with Prof. Dörfler, has won this year’s ABB research award.
