ETH Automation & Control ranks #7 worldwide

The 2017 Shanghai Ranking has started a ranking in the specific area of “Automation & Control”, represented at D-ITET by the Automatic Control Laboratory. In the ranking, ETH Zurich reaches the 7th place worldwide and the 2nd place in Europe.
Audimax full to capacity and happy faces at D-ITET Master Ceremony

On 7 July 2017 the Master Ceremony was celebrated at the packed Audimax. 117 graduates of the Master programmes MSc EEIT, MSc EST and MSc BME were present, a new record! The mood at Audimax was solemn and cheerful at the same time.
Video of Microsoft Indoor Localisation Competition 2017 now online

In April 2017 a team of the Automatic Control Laboratory, consisting of Bachelor students Lukas Bieri, Matthias Binder, Manuel Meier, Noa Melchior, and PhD student Paul Beuchat won the 3rd place in the Microsoft Indoor Localisation Competition 2017. The video is now online.
Adrian Hauswirth and Uros Markovic win awards at IEEE PES Powertech 2017

The doctoral student Adrian Hauswirth (advised by Florian Dörfler and Gabriela Hug) has received the “Basil Papadias” Award for the Best Paper and Uros Markovic (advised by Gabriela Hug) has received a “High Quality Paper Award” (Top 4 Papers).
ETH Career Seed Grant awarded to Dr. Sebastian Heeg

Dr. Sebastian Heeg, postdoctoral researcher at the Photonics Lab headed by Prof. Lukas Novotny, has been awarded an ETH Career Seed Grant for PostDoctoral Researchers by the ETH Zurich Research Commission. The grant is designed to support promising young researchers in an early career stage in establishing their own record of independent research.
