A group of electricity companies join forces to reduce the environmental impact of our electricity grid. Christian Lindner from Axpo and Prof. Christian Franck, head of the High Voltage Lab at D-ITET, give insight into this pioneering project.

During the spring programme of this year's "Treffpunkt Science City" Prof. Juerg Leuthold, head of the Institute of Electromagnetic Fields (IEF), gave the lay audience an insight into the current research on the mobile communications standard 5G.

Onur Mutlu and co-authors received the HPCA Test of Time Award for their 2003 HPCA paper "Runahead Execution: An Alternative to Very Large Instruction Windows for Out-of-Order Processors”. The IEEE International Symposium on High-Performance Computer Architecture (HPCA) Test of Time Award recognizes the most influential papers published in prior sessions of HPCA (held 18-22 years ago), and that have had a significant impact in the field.

Yesterday over 90 high school students took part in in a follow-up session of last year's virtual "Studieninformationstage". During the online event, D-​ITET Master's students Vera Birrer and Yvan Bosshard presented the Bachelor's programme and answered questions together with study coordinator Reto Kreuzer.
