How to localize cargo wagons anywhere and anytime

Thanks to the valuable support of SBB and SBB Cargo, students at the Center for Project-Based Learning D-ITET (PBL) can test their projects on real operating trains. In this case, Master's student Frank Fu Zheng tested his project named "Future Generation of Railway Applications Cargo Wagon Tagging" that is able to localize anywhere and anytime a cargo wagon using the state-of-the-art technology, GNSS, 4G and UWB.

This project aims to increase the railway transportation logistic as well as operator security thanks to its capability of measuring the absolute and relative position of each cargo wagon.
