Luca Benini receives IEEE Computer Society 2023 Edward J. McCluskey Technical Achievement Award
The Edward J. McCluskey Technical Achievement Award, which is sponsored by the IEEE, honors "the excellent and creative contributions to the disciplines of computer and information science and engineering or computer technology." In 2023, this honour goes to Luca Benini for his contributions to energy-efficient circuits, architectures, and associated design processes and equipment.
Congratulations!
Luca Benini holds the chair of digital Circuits and Systems at D-ITET.
Prof. Benini's research interests include smart sensing microsystems, energy-efficient parallel computing systems, and hardware for machine learning. The PULP (parallel-ultra-low power) open source hardware platform, which is based on the RISC-V ISA, is led by Prof. Benini. He has produced groundbreaking advancements in the domains of Networks-on-Chip and design automation for low power digital circuits and systems early in his career.
