PBL Goes to the Moon: ESA Idea Project to Revolutionize Lunar Exploration with UWB Localization for Swarm of Robots

The D-ITET Center for Project-Based Learning (PBL) was successfully accepted to receive an ESA Idea project grant for the groundbreaking initiative "Energy-aware infrastructure-free localization for robotic swarms on lunar south pole missions."
New at D-ITET: Ueli Koch joins as educational developer

As of 1 September 2023, Ueli Koch has joined D-ITET as educational devoloper and lecturer. In his function, he will be the contact person in the department for issues in the area of teaching.

SRF Radio: A look into the quantum dots laboratory

The SRF science editorial team discusses the Nobel Prizes in medicine, physics and chemistry. In a visit to the lab of Prof. Vanessa Wood, they learn more about the key technology of quantum dots, for which Moungi Bawendi from MIT received the Nobel prize 2023.
New award for outstanding Bachelor’s students

At yesterday’s Departemental Conference, the newly established "Best BSc Thesis Award" was granted for the first time to three outstanding Bachelor’s students at D-ITET. It was handed over to the laureates Jan Brändle, Jente Clarysse, and Zhenrong Lang by the prize donors Christophe Beaud, CEO and his wife Danette Beaud, COO of Peoplefone. The donation also supports flagship projects within the Center for Project-Based Learning D-ITET (PBL).
Networking & Spaghetti

On 4 October, the traditional "Spaghettiplausch" took place for first-semester female students* at D-ITET and their female mentors* . In the "Commihalle", there was a lively exchange between the first-year students* and the students* from higher semesters. Prof. Gabriela Hug shared experiences from her own studies with the students. The annual event is organised by the student association LIMES, Women* in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zurich.
