Onur Mutlu receives the 2025 Harry H. Goode Memorial Award
Prof. Onur Mutlu, head of the SAFARI Research Group, has received the IEEE Computer Society 2025 Harry H. Goode Memorial Award for "seminal contributions to computer architecture research and practice, especially in memory systems".
The Goode Award is given to individuals for their achievements in the information processing field which are considered either a single contribution of theory, design, or technique of outstanding significance, or the accumulation of important contributions on theory or practice over an extended time period.
Prof. Mutlu on the award: “I am deeply honored and humbled to receive this award for our longstanding work in computer architecture. This award reflects the achievements we have made together with my students and collaborators for more than two decades. It is wonderful to see our work and efforts to have positively and broadly impacted computing systems that are used by hundreds of millions of people in the world and to have positively inspired many researchers and designers to look into new ideas. There are a lot more exciting things to be invented and discovered in making our computers fundamentally more efficient, higher performance and robust, and I look forward to seeing and being part of developments to this end.”
