The Master's Graduation Ceremony, hosted by D-ITET's Director of Studies Prof. Christian Franck, featured musical performances by the band “Freaky Audio Machine”. In the keynote address, Dr. Marc von Waldkirch recounted his professional journey – from pursuing a doctorate at D-ITET, to joining Sensirion, a global leader in high-precision sensor technology and an ETH spin-off, to ultimately advancing to his current position as CEO.

Diploma speaker Christoph Funke, a graduate in Energy Science and Technology (EST) as well as recipient of the Willi Studer Prize, delivered an inspiring speech in which he reflected on his career path and the unique aspects of pursuing a Master's degree at ETH. Trui Osselaer, a Biomedical Engineering (BME) graduate and ETH Medal winner, presented key findings from her Master’s thesis to the audience.

Eleven outstanding students honoured

One of the ceremony’s highlights was the recognition of eleven outstanding graduates with the ETH Medal for an excellent Master's thesis or the Willi Studer Prize as best graduate of a Master's programme. Nicolas Filliol (Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, EEIT) and Anqi Gong (Quantum Engineering, QE) won both ETH Medal as well as the Willi Studer Prize. Further Medal winners of the class of 2025 were Matej Bölcskei, Jan Brändle, Nicolas Menet, Patrik Wolf, Jiawei Zhang (all EEIT), Jonathan Hamid, Trui Osselaer (both BME) and Maxime Descamps (EST). Nicolas Menet (EEIT) and Rebekka Hosch (BME) received the Willi Studer Prize alongside Nicolas Filliol, Christoph Funke and Anqi Gong.
