D-ITET follows the principles of good scientific practice (GSP) in teaching and research.
Good scientific practice is characterized by:
- Transparency of sources and avoidance of plagiarism
- Honesty in the determination of authorship
- Responsible handling of research data
- Publication of research results and openness towards exchange and reproduction
- Correct indication of affiliation(s) in publications
- Good supervision of young researchers
- Compliance with human rights and fairness in international cooperation
- Willingness to provide expert opinions
- Disclosure of conflicts of interest

At D-ITET, the Research Integrity Advisor (RIA) acts as a point of contact and discussion partner. He provides members of the department with information on scientific integrity and good scientific practice. He advises people seeking advice on aspects of scientific integrity and GSP. He helps with questions and conflicts regarding authorship, the documentation and utilization of research results.
Personal documents and discussions are generally treated confidentially.
