Events for prospective students

There are various opportunities for prospective students to learn more about the Bachelor in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and the Department (D-ITET). Below you will find an overview of the various activities and event formats.

Study week (“ETH-Studienwoche”)
During the annual ETH study week in June, high school graduates have the opportunity to work on a project with scientists, gaining insight into our current research and the daily work of electrical engineers.

Studieninformationstage
Every year in September, the largest and most important information event of ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich takes place. At the Information Days, around 6000 high school graduates from all over Switzerland visit us to obtain first-hand information about the study programmes.

ETH on the move (“ETH unterwegs”)
During the winter half year, ETH visits high schools throughout Switzerland with its traveling exhibition. Our students present hands-on exhibits and interactive experiments. They provide information about the degree programmes, student life, and career opportunities.

Visits for school classes
Upon request, we are happy to give school classes a half-day introduction to the Bachelor programme. We present its structure and then take the class to a laboratory to showcase current research projects.
Appointments are arranged individually. Please contact us well in advance at for enquiries.

Taster day for female* students: November 2026 (date tbc)
By women, for women: Discover the world of engineering – exclusively for female* students. The event is organised by the student association LIMES (Ladies in Mechanical and Electrical Studies).

Online Q&A session for high school graduates: 2 March 2 2026
If you need some last-minute help making your decision, you've come to the right place: The programme includes presentations on the degree course and student life, as well as a Q&A session about studying.

Student for a day
On request, you can attend lectures on an individually agreed date. A first-year student will accompany the guest and provide support. This is an opportunity to ask any burning questions. The event is organised by the student association AMIV (Academic Association of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering).
