D-ITET professors meet and retreat
As a kick off into the new year, the D-ITET professors and other department members went on a retreat from 21 to 22 February 2016 to discuss about the strategic orientation of the department and improvements in education. To intensify further collaboration between faculty members, the new event format "Faculty Lunch" was started to exchange on ideas and to identify opportunities for collaboration.

Prof. Göran Andersson was elected as Foreign Member into the US National Academy of Engineering "for contributions to the development of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) technology and methods of power system voltage stability analysis".
AAAI 2016: Best Video nominee SWARMIX Project Runs for "People's Choice Award"
The video of the SWARMIX Project by the Communication Systems Group at TIK has been nominated for Best Video at the AAAI 2016 video competition. The competition includes a "People's Choice Award" that is based on the number of "likes" on Youtube.

Brian Trammell, senior researcher at the Networked Systems group at TIK, has been reappointed to the Internet Architecture Board.

Prof. Roger Wattenhofer, Head of the Distributed Computing group at TIK, published a new book titled "The Science of the Blockchain".
