The Week of Open Source Hardware 2019 (WOSH)

Organized by the Digital Circuits and Systems Group from June 11 to June 14, WOSH gave free and open source silicon enthusiasts the chance to gather and discuss throughout an entire week.

The Week of Open Source Hardware (WOSH)

During the first two days an official RISC-V workshop took place. The following free complementary programme by the FOSSi Foundation and the PULP project, with the support of H2020 projects Eurolab4HPC and OPRECOMP covered topics around free and open source silicon, its licensing and open source EDA tools. Notable guests during the week also included Dave Patterson, Turing Award winner, and father of RISC systems, who announced a new benchmark for embedded processor performance which uses the Ri5CY core developed at ETH Zurich as a reference.
