Dr. Lana Josipović appointed new professor at D-ITET
The ETH Board has appointed Dr Lana Josipović, currently Research Assistant at EPFL, as Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Digital Systems and Design Automation.
PBL goes fashion with Smart Patches Flagship project
In collaboration with Gentjana Begu from Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London), the Center for Project-Based Learning (PBL) has developed a dress collections using IoT self-sustainble smart sensors to modify the shape of the dress. People involved at D-ITET are Philipp Mayer from IIS, and Silvano Cortesi, Michael Roth, and Michele Magno from PBL.

PBL SNF Bridge Aerosense Project paper wins Best Paper Award
The paper "WindNode: A Long-Lasting And Long-Range Bluetooth Wireless Sensor Node for Pressure and Acoustic Monitoring on Wind Turbines", authored by Raphael Fischer, Hanna Mueller, Tommaso Polonelli, Luca Benini, and Michele Magno has won the ICPS 2021 Best Presentation in Session Award at the 4th IEEE International Conference on Industrial Cyber-Physical Systems (ICPS).
Collaborative paper of IIS and IBM featured in Editors’ Highlights of Nature
The paper "Robust high-dimensional memory-augmented neural networks", co-authored by IBM and ETH Zurich authors, appeared as a featured article on the Editors’ Highlights webpage of recent research called “Applied physics and mathematics”. PBL research project “Patch-IT” selected to be part of Postdoctoral Excellence Programme
The BRCCH (Botnar Research Centre for Child Health) has announced five research projects within its new initiative Postdoctoral Excellence Programme (PEP). PEP Fellow Kanika Dheman will join the Center for Project-Based Learning D-ITET (PBL) headed by Dr. Michele Magno to work on “Patch-IT”, a monitoring project for sepsis detection in neonatal intensive care.

Nako Nakatsuka, a Principal Investigator at the Laboratory of Biosensors and Bioelectronics (LBB), was named to MIT Technology Review's Innovators Under 35 list. Each year since 1999, exceptionally talented young innovators whose work has the greatest potential to transform the world have been selected to the prestigious list.
130 graduates attend hybrid Master’s Ceremony
Thanks to the government’s easing of restrictions regarding the Corona pandemic, around 30 graduates seized the opportunity to attend the D-ITET Master's Ceremony on site at Scherrer Auditorium on 25 June 2021. Most graduates from the three Master's programmes in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Biomedical Engineering and Energy Science and Technology watched the Master's celebration online together with family and friends.
