PBL goes fashion with Smart Patches Flagship project

In collaboration with Gentjana Begu from Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London), the Center for Project-Based Learning (PBL) has developed a dress collections using IoT self-sustainble smart sensors to modify the shape of the dress. People involved at D-ITET are Philipp Mayer from IIS, and Silvano Cortesi, Michael Roth, and Michele Magno from PBL.

The centrepiece of Gentjana Begu's latest collection "Vacuumed Memories" is a 3D printed, donut-shaped piece that contains a unique mechanism, developed by PBL, which moves fabric through a sensorial board activated by the proximity of your hand.
