ETH on the road: Learning that electrical engineering is everywhere

On November 30, "ETH unterwegs" took place again, an event where students can experience not only ETH Zurich, but also the individual departments and study programmes up close.

This time, Master's students Florian Henzer and Luca Iten were in charge of the booth and showed the students of the Kantonsschule Schaffhausen where in our daily lives electrical engineering can be found.

Bachelor's student Chiara Lenz, who herself graduated from the Kantonsschule Schaffhausen, gave an exciting presentation showing the everyday life of students at the Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering. Among the exhibits presented at the booth were an iPhone 12 that had been disassembled into its individual parts as well as the "VitalPod", a Bachelor's thesis developed at the Center for Project-Based Learning (PBL). The "VitalPod" is a Bluetooth headset that can measure physical characteristics such as body temperature, blood oxygen concentration and heart rate.
