Krishnaswamy Sankaran, ETH alumnus and lecturer at the Institute of Electromagnetic Fields (IEF), sets out reasons in a guest commentary in the Handelszeitung why Switzerland should rethink its nuclear policy.

At a time when energy shortages threaten countries worldwide, researchers of the Automatic Control Laboratory (IfA) at D-ITET and NCCR Automation have developed a low-cost, high-impact software solution to improve energy providers' resilience and efficiency. This innovative approach enables providers to optimize decentralized energy resources, such as photovoltaic systems, through flexible, responsive, and data-driven operation.

Hasan Hassan, researcher from SAFARI research group, has been awarded the EDAA Outstanding Dissertation Award 2023 for his dissertation titled "Improving DRAM Performance, Reliability, and Security by Rigorously Understanding Intrinsic DRAM operations." Congratulations!

Prof. Onur Mutlu and his team have been awarded the Huawei OlympusMons Award for their contribution to the field of "Data-Centric & Data-Driven Storage System Design for High Performance, Efficiency and Reliability". This award promotes collaboration among academia, industry, and research and facilitates advancements in the field of global data storage.

D-ITET was well represented at the Meet the Talent event last week. All in all, 16 excellent students and four Pioneer Fellows from diverse fields ranging from Materials Science to Quantum Engineering and from Master Projects to Start-ups interacted with donors. ETH Rector, Günther Dissertori, expressed his gratitude towards the visitors, acknowledging the value of their support for the education of future generations.
