The SCS Materials Chemistry (MatChem) Network organized a significant event known as the 1st Swiss Symposium on Materials Chemistry 2023. The symposium aimed to foster connections among scientists working in various fields of materials chemistry in Switzerland, encompassing solid-state chemistry, materials synthesis, and advanced characterization.

The symposium focused on the preparation and understanding of materials with unique or beneficial properties, spanning from theoretical research to practical applications. The program featured a keynote lecture, invited talks, presentations by PhD students and postdocs, and a poster session. Attendees had numerous opportunities to network during lunch, coffee breaks, and the concluding aperitif.
