Min Jeong was born in Seoul, Republic of Korea, in 1991. He received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Seoul National University, in 2016, and the M.Sc. degree in power engineering from the Technical University of Munich, in 2019.
During his studies, he spent exchange semesters at TU Graz, Austria, and conducted his master thesis at ETH Zürich, Switzerland. In his master thesis, he dealt with long horizon linear model predictive control (MPC) for the modular multilevel converter (MMC). In May 2019, he joined the Laboratory for High Power Electronic Systems (HPE), ETH Zürich, as a Scientific Assistant. Since February 2020, he is a Ph.D. Student at HPE, working on advanced control methods for the MMC with battery energy storage systems (BESS) to compensate railway power fluctuations.
