Additional information

Georgios Papadopoulos studied electrical and computer engineering with a specialization in power engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece). He received his diploma in 2017 and in his Thesis he dealt with thermal analysis of superconducting cables utilizing finite-element and volume element methods.

He acquired his Master’s degree from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm in 2019. His Master Thesis has been conducted in collaboration with Scania CV and he investigated a DC-current interruption concept using SiC MOSFETs which is meant to be used as a protection device in the propulsion battery of a heavy vehicle. After his graduation, he worked in Scania CV in Södertälje, Sweden as an R&D engineer for one year dealing with safety-related components in propulsion batteries.

He joined the Laboratory for High Power Electronic system in ETH Zurich as a Ph.D. student in July 2020.
