Great success: Online Computational Psychiatry Course 2020
From 7 to 12 September 2020, the 6th annual international Computational Psychiatry Course (CPC) is held – for the first time completely online – at ETH and University Zurich. The course brings together (prospective) engineers and clinicians and teaches the mathematical modeling of neuronal circuits and cognition to shed light on psychiatric disorders. The event has attracted 1’000 registered participants, about four times more than in previous years.
The course is organized by the Translational Neuromodeling Unit (TNU), which is part of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering of ETH Zurich and University of Zurich. According to Prof. Klaas Enno Stephan, head of TNU, the very limited opportunity for social interaction was outweighed by the wide variety of participants and their internationality, as outlined by external page this graph published on the external page event's offical Twitter account.
Co-organizers Dr. Frederike Petzschner and Katharina Wellstein are delighted by the global interest in the course. They emphasize that the demand exceeded all expectations and that only technical limitations prevented the inclusion of even more participants.
Congratulations!
