Tethys, an ETH spin-off, has created an underwater robot capable of operating in hazardous conditions that would pose risks to human divers. Pragash Sivananthaguru, one of the founders, did his Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering at D-ITET and then completed a master's degree in biomedical engineering.

Nako Nakatsuka, senior scientist at the Laboratory of Biosensors and Bioelectrics (LBB), is awarded the 2023 ACS Nano Lectureship for her groundbreaking work of unraveling the molecular interactions of aptamers, which are DNA-based recognition elements that exhibit high specificity and selectivity in capturing small-molecule targets.

Prof. Kaveh Razavi, leader of the Computer Security Group (COMSEC) at D-ITET, started his Master’s studies at ETH Zurich in 2009 thanks to an Excellence Scholarship. In this interview, he talks about his time as a student, why he left his professorship in Amsterdam to return to Zurich, and the reasons he supports the scholarship programme today.
