Internship in industry
To complement theoretical studies and gain practical professional experience, an internship in industry can be completed either during the master’s program or in the transition period between the bachelor’s and master’s programs. The internship must be completed before the start of the master’s thesis.
Internships in industry or comparable professional experience completed before the start of the bachelor’s program cannot be credited toward the master’s program. The internship must generally take place in industry – not at universities or research institutes.
The minimum duration of an internship in industry is 12 weeks full-time. Vacation taken during the internship does not count toward the minimum duration.
After completing the internship in industry, the following documents must be submitted to the :
- Work certificate: Confirmation from the employer stating the duration and employment percentage, a description of the tasks performed, and an evaluation of the student’s performance.
- Internship report: One A4 page, written by the student, in German or English.
To receive credit for the internship, the course unit 227-1550-10L Internship in Industry must also be registered via myStudies.
