Research area
Tobias Delbruck’s research focus is on neuromorphic and bio-inspired sensory processing – spike-event-based silicon retina vision sensors, silicon cochlea auditory sensors, event-based algorithms and sensor applications.
Tobias Delbruck hast been an Adjunct Professor in the field of Neuromorphic Engineering at the Institute of Neuroinformatics INI, a joint institute of ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich, since 2009.
He was born in Pasadena, California, USA, in 1960.
He has a BSc in physics and applied mathematics from the University of California, San Diego.
He earned his PhD in computation and neural systems from Caltech, the Californian Institute of Technology in 1993.
Tobias Delbruck worked as a consultant in Silicon Valley for Synaptics, Arithmos, National Semiconductor, and Foveon, before joining the Institute of Neuroinformatics in 1998.
