Didactical pass at ETH Zurich

The Teaching Certificate TC (page in German only), programme for Electrical Engineers, offered jointly with the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering (D-MAVT), is aimed at people who – during or after their training at D-ITET – would like to acquire basic didactic training for teaching Electrical Engineering courses at universities of applied sciences (FH). The TC can also be used to obtain a certificate recognised by SBFI for teachers at higher technical colleges (HFS) and for teaching at vocational school (BFS) as a secondary occupation.

The award of the didactics certificate requires a qualifying university master's degree (or equivalent). This ensures that holders of the TC have excellent specialist knowledge and experience with the scientific approach in their field of teaching.

Training for the TC aims at combining scientific, didactic, educational science and practical training aspects. It contains mentored components in which students have the opportunity to plan lectures themselves, accompanied by a mentor, either in small groups or individually. During a teaching internship, students are accompanied by teachers at respective schools in order to deepen their own knowledge and enrich it with concrete teaching experience. The TC programme also offers an opportunity to improve one's presentation and explanation techniques, which are of great importance in everyday professional life.

The TC comprises 24 credits and can be completed in parallel to a Master program, while studying for a doctorate, or on the job.
The didactic training at D-ITET is supervised by .
