Computer Vision Lab team on 20min.ch

Nikolay Kobyshev and Sergi Caelles Prat, both PhD students of Prof. Luc Van Gool at the Computer Vision Lab, are featured on 20min.ch with their new augmented reality tool, whose aim is to visualize food one is about to order in a restaurant.
Matias Kagias wins William H. F. Talbot Award

Matias Kagias, PhD student in Prof. Marco Stampanoni's group, received the William H. F. Award 2017 at the last XNPIG2017 conference in Zurich.
Sebastian Heeg receives Best Poster Award

Sebastian Heeg, postdoc in the group of Prof. Lukas Novotny, has received the Best Poster Award at the International Conference on Enhanced Spectroscopies in Munich, Germany.
IIS team wins best paper award

Dr. Michele Magno, Antonio Pullini and Prof. Luca Benini from the Integrated Systems Laboratory won the best paper award at the 1st IEEE conference New Generation of Circuits and Systems (NGCAS) 2017.
D-ITET Welcome Day 2017

The new semester has started. At the D-ITET Welcome Day on 18 September, the new students received important information for their start at ETH by Prof. Christian Franck, study coordinator Reto Kreuzer and many others.
IIS team wins Best Paper Award

Lukas Cavigelli, Philippe Degen and Luca Benini have won the Best Paper Award at the 11th International Conference on Distributed Smart Cameras (ICDSC) for their paper "CBinfer: Change-Based Inference for Convolutional Neural Networks on Video Data" presented on 5 September 2017 in Stanford, CA, USA.

On 6 and 7 September 2017, D-ITET presented itself at the Studieninformationstage. An interesting exhibition and exciting presentations provided high-school students with lots of information.
PermaSense GPS sensor network in TV report on alpine natural hazards

On September 13, the Swiss national TV SRF1 aired a report on alpine natural hazards. In the report Dr. Jan Beutel (TIK), together with a colleague from UZH, demonstrates the PermaSense GPS sensor network monitoring alpine mass movements and their related natural hazards in Matter Valley/CH.
