Additional information
Thomas Ewald studied electrical engineering with focus on Energy Conversion Technology at Technical University of Munich (TUM) in Germany. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree from TUM in 2015 and 2018, respectively. In his Master’s thesis he developed an analytical model for simulating transient processes in both, permanent magnet and electrically excited synchronous machines.
In 2013 and 2014 he worked as an intern at Scanlab AG in Puchheim, Germany, in the R&D department. There he dealt with the simulation of transients in galvanometer scanners. In 2017, he wrote his Master’s Thesis at BMW AG in the R&D department for electrical drive components.
Since November 2019 he is a Ph.D. student at the Laboratory for High Power Electronic Systems (HPE) at ETH Zurich, working on analytical inductor models and automated optimization processes.
